Douglas Hall

Douglas qualified in South Africa in 1992. After working in a respected small animal practice in North London for 10 years, he moved to Guildford, opening The Cape Veterinary Clinic in June 2004. He has built up a committed team of professional and compassionate staff. He specialises in canine and feline internal medicine, ultrasonography and radiography, gastroenterology, dermatology and canine and feline behaviour.
Douglas is deeply passionate about what he does. He always has the welfare of every patient and owner at the forefront of his mind.
As well as spending time with his family, Sara, Rafi and their cat Arthur, Douglas enjoys yoga, triathlons, travelling and cooking.
Mike Pauckert
- Veterinary Surgeon
- MRCVS
Mike, a classmate of Douglas, qualified in South Africa in 1992 and came to the UK in 1995, joining Cape Vets in 2014. Mike’s special interests are feline internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, small furries and cardiology.
Mike has a tremendous client following because his professional skills are underpinned by outstanding compassion and empathy.
When not at work, Mike is either tending his garden or on the beach with his wife Allyson.
Catherine Hannah

Catherine qualified from Bristol University in 2015. After working in a small animal practice in Hertfordshire, she joined our team in 2017. Catherine has a love for all animals and prides herself in providing a stress-free environment for every patient in the veterinary surgery.
Catherine is particularly interested in soft tissue surgery, emergency and critical care and animal behaviour. Catherine’s understanding nature and compassion are evident from the very moment you walk into her consulting room.
When not hard at work, Catherine enjoys country walks with her family dog Truffle.
Sam Preston

Since qualifying in 2015, Sam has worked in a variety of veterinary practices, including a specialist referral practice. She has been working at The Cape Veterinary Clinic since 2018. She has a real passion for making patients’ trips to the vets as stress-free as possible. She has a Certificate in Feline Nursing, to help ensure our practice is as cat-friendly as it possibly can be.
As the Registered Veterinary Nurse in our practice, Sam enjoys the variety the job brings and loves being so hands-on with the patients. Her nurse clinics include weight checks, nail clips, tooth-brushing clinics and special clinics for seniors.
Sam enjoys walking, running and plenty of time at home with her two rescue cats, Jasper and Luna.
Emma Stenning
- Registered Veterinary Nurse

Emma joined our clinic's nursing team clinic in February 2022. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse from the Royal Veterinary College in 2021 and is due to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing in July 2022.
She has experience working in both general practice and referral hospital environments, gained throughout her training. Emma loves the variety that nursing brings and finds the role very rewarding, aiming to make patients visits as stress-free as possible. She enjoys all aspects of being a Registered Veterinary Nurse but has a particular interest in theatre nursing and anaesthesia.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, going to watch the rugby and spending time with her black Labrador Darcey. '
Jaeda Boulton
- Veterinary Nursing Assistant
Jaeda has been working with us since November 2017. She studied animal care, animal management and canine first aid at Merrist Wood College.
Her main duties are to keep the practice clinically clean and tidy and to help walk and feed hospital and surgical patients. Sometimes you may find her working at reception. She has a vital role in helping to keep everything running smoothly.
Jaeda’s passion for the patients shines through, she has a genuine love for all animals and is hoping to study veterinary nursing in the future.
In her free time, she enjoys reading and dog walking
Annna-Louise Clough
- Student Veterinary Nurse
Anna-Louise joined our team in July 2022. She is studying Veterinary Nursing with the College of Animal Welfare, and is due to qualify in 2024. She has a lovely ragdoll cat of her own, and loves to spend her free time outdoors.
Clare Harris
- Veterinary Receptionist
You will see Clare’s friendly face at reception when you first walk through the clinic doors. Clare had already had 15 year’s experience in the veterinary field when she joined us in 2017. She previously worked in conservation and has completed courses in dog behaviour, pet bereavement and customer care.
As a lifelong animal lover and pet owner, Clare has always owned rescue dogs. She is happiest when out and about in the countryside walking her lovely dog Piper.
Stephanie Henning

Stephanie, joined out team in March 2023. Stephanie lived in South Africa for many years, there she worked in animal welfare for 16 years.
Since beng in the UK she has worked in veterinary clinics since 2017, and brings a wealth of knowledge. In her free time she spends her time with her lovely pug Lizzie who came all the way from South Africa too.
Luisa Greig

Luisa has been working as our Myotherapist since June 2018, managing our arthritic and spinal cases. Around 80% of our acute or chronic patients have shown a marked improvement thanks to Luisa’s expertise, professional approach and her calm, confident manner.
Luisa has a real passion for Huskies and Malamutes. She treats working dogs across all disciplines, including agility, flyball, competitive obedience, gun dog work, field trials, police and assistance dogs and harness sports such as canicross, bikejor, scooter and mushing. She also treats sporting dogs at the top of their fields. These include the World Sleddog Association winning team, Infury Sleddogs and the dogs of trainer Di Martin - winner of Crufts Competitive Obedience, Brighton Flyball and Epic Agility.
Duncan Greeff

Since graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011, Duncan has gained extensive experience of veterinary orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. Duncan completed his certificate studies as the Lead Surgeon in several large hospitals and has been practicing advanced small animal surgery and diagnostic imaging ever since. Since 2021, he has been working as a peripatetic surgeon.
Duncan’s main area of clinical interest is orthopaedics however, he is capable of assisting your pet with a wide variety of procedures. These range from correction of Brachycephalic Obstructive Airways Syndrome (BOAS), thoracic surgery and complex oncology resection, to managing cruciate ligament disease, arthroscopy and complex fracture repair.
In his spare time, Duncan enjoys snowboarding, has a keen interest in cars and enjoys spending time with his young family.
Jonathon Frost
- Veterinary Dentist
Jonathan graduated from Liverpool University in 2013, and then started working in a primary care setting in Surrey. Over time his interest in veterinary dentistry has grown and he started an Alternate Pathway Residency in 2020. He has gained extensive knowledge and experience in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery, and his main focus is alleviating the hidden pain that our pets get from dental problems.
He is capable of assisting your pets with complex dental extractions, investigating oral pain, root canal therapy for broken teeth in cats and dogs, orthodontics, or even just a simple clean and to advice you on how to keep your pet's mouths disease and pain free!
He is currently a peripatetic veterinary dentist around Surrey and the South of England, as well as teaching to help primary care vets get more enjoyment out of dental cases.
In his spare time he is a keen hiker and loves getting lost in the woods
